Born   of   the   desire   for   the   benefit   of   the   three   worlds,   may
you   contain   the   energy   in   a   body   that   is   energetic,   may   you
protect   all   these   worlds   and   may   you   not   render   (effect)
a   state   of   worldlessness   (12).

Upon   hearing   these   words   of   the   gods,   the   supreme   Lord   of
all   the   worlds,   addressing   all   of   them,   said:   `So   be   it'
and   also   added   the   following   (13).

`I   shall   bear   the   energy   in   an   energetic   body,   along   with   Uma.

May   you,   the   best   among   gods,   tell   me   who   is   going   to   bear
this,   my   energy,   which   is   incomparable,   when   it   falls   from
its   place'   (15).

Being   queried   thus,   the   gods   replied   to   the   one   with   the   sign
of the   bull   in   his   banner   (Lord   Siva):   `That   energy,   when   it
falls, will   be   borne   by   the   earth'   (16).

On   being   told   so,   the   god   of   gods let the energy fall on  the
earth;   with   which   energy   this   earth,   along   with   mountains,
forests,   etc,   were   covered   (17).

In   this   state,   then,   the   gods   addressed   the   god   of   fire   as
follows:   ` Along   with   the   wind   god,   may   you   enter   the
energy   released   by   Lord   Rudra,   somehow   or   the   other '   (18).

It     thereafter,   turned   into   a   whitish   mountain,   on   being animated   by   fire.   Lord   Karthikeya   was   born   from   the   fire, with   great   resplendence   in   the   divine   grass-forest,   having the   dazzle   of   the   Sun   and   the   fire   god   (19).

Thereafter,   the   gods   in   the   company   of   the   sages,   on   becoming
