Acharya Logo
The oil lamp symbolizes offerings to the divinities by providing the required illumination. The lamp is an indispensable part of any ceremony in India. The speciality of the ornamental lamps (usually made of brass) is that a very small flame which looks like a bulb can be sustained by using sharp wicks made of cotton. The flame shown here is perhaps just a few millimeters in diameter!
